Club América vs Monterrey

On Saturday, November 29, Club América and Rayados de Monterrey met in the second leg of the Liga MX quarterfinals. Monterrey entered the stadium with a 2–0 aggregate lead. América applied early pressure and broke through with a strike from Alejandro Zendejas, sending the match into halftime at 1–0. Shortly after the restart, “La Pantera” Zuñiga scored América’s second, momentarily putting the Eagles into the semifinals. However, in stoppage time, Germán Berterame scored for Monterrey in the 92nd minute, dramatically shifting the outcome of the series.
